Thermal energy storage and chemical energy storage

　　Thermal energy storage: In a thermal energy storage system, thermal energy is stored in the preface of an insulated container and converted back into electrical energy when needed. It can also be directly used without being converted back into electrical energy. Thermal energy storage can be further divided into sensible thermal energy storage and latent thermal energy storage. The heat stored in thermal energy storage can be very large, so it can be used in renewable power generation.

　　Shortcomings: Thermal energy storage requires various high-temperature chemical thermal working fluids, which are limited in application scenarios.

　　Chemical energy storage: using hydrogen or natural gas as a carrier for secondary power, using the remaining electricity to produce hydrogen, hydrogen can be directly used as an energy carrier, or it can react with carbon dioxide to form natural gas (methane). Hydrogen may form natural gas, which can be used not only for power generation but also for other applications such as transportation. Germany is enthusiastic about promoting this technology and has put demonstration projects into operation.

　　Shortcomings: Low full cycle power, only 40% hydrogen production power, and less than 35% synthetic natural gas power.
