  Safety is also a factor of consideration. Lead-acid batteries contain toxic lead and sulfuric acid, which pose environmental and safety risks during handling, disposal, and in case of leakage. Lithium batteries, while not entirely risk-free (as they can pose a fire risk if damaged or improperly charged), generally have safer chemistries, especially LiFePO4 batteries, which are more thermally stable.

  Cost is a significant factor as well. Lead-acid batteries are much cheaper to purchase initially, making them accessible for consumers with limited budgets. However, when considering the overall cost of ownership, including replacement costs and maintenance expenses, lithium batteries can be more cost-effective in the long term due to their longer lifespan and higher efficiency.
