Microgrid energy storage batteries are the core energy regulation equipment of distributed microgrid systems, serving independent and grid-connected microgrid scenarios such as industrial parks, remote mountainous areas, island communities, and rural decentralized power supply areas. Unlike large-scale centralized energy storage devices, these batteries are designed for small-capacity, flexible deployment and fast response characteristics, perfectly adapting to the unstable power output of distributed energy sources including solar photovoltaic and wind power. They mainly adopt lithium iron phosphate batteries and lead-carbon batteries as mainstream products, with outstanding safety performance, low self-discharge rate and strong cycle stability, which can meet the long-term stable operation needs of microgrids.

The core function of microgrid energy storage batteries lies in peak shaving and valley filling, power smoothing and emergency power supply. In the grid-connected operation mode, they store excess electric energy generated by new energy power generation during peak power production periods and release power during peak electricity consumption, effectively balancing the power supply and demand of the microgrid and reducing the dependence on the large power grid. For off-grid microgrids without grid support, the batteries act as the key power regulation hub, restraining the voltage and frequency fluctuation caused by the intermittent output of wind and solar power, and ensuring the continuous and stable power supply for user loads.

In addition, these batteries are equipped with intelligent management systems to realize real-time monitoring of battery temperature, voltage, current and state of charge (SOC). The built-in overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent and short-circuit protection mechanisms greatly improve the operational safety of the microgrid system. With the rapid development of distributed new energy, microgrid energy storage batteries are constantly optimized in terms of miniaturization, high energy density and long cycle life, becoming an indispensable core equipment for promoting the popularization of decentralized clean energy power supply.
